The Fable of Mia at Chelsea Physic Garden
The Fable of Mia began in Frassinetto, a mountain village north of Turin, where Visentin and friends created a 90-metre collective drawing inspired by her grandmother’s dog, Mia.
A stray from southern Italy, Mia’s imagined life is reconstructed through paper, colour, collage and shared storytelling.
Using a hand-wound scroll, Visentin turns the drawing into a kind of live cinema, where fragments of Mia’s story appear and disappear.
At Chelsea Physic Garden, she is joined by performer Verity Coward and musician Magda Antoniazzi, whose original score accompanies the work’s unfolding.
