Ahead of our biggest ever KOKO Amplify event in the Theatre this November, we’re excited to welcome self-described “noir R&B” breakthrough star KeepVibesNear to Ellen’s for a special headline Amplify show.
Creating introspective and emotive music that challenges the norms of masculinity, the Romford-raised, East London-based artist has already stacked up an enviable list of co-signs. With support from BBC 1Xtra, Capital, Notion and more, plus collaborations with Kojey Radical, Jords and FloFilz, the London riser has played shows from We Out Here and Cross The Tracks to Brick Lane Jazz Festival and even an opening slot for Loyle Carner in Hamburg.
A key player in The Silhouettes Project, KVN helped shape its movement, culminating in a headline set in the Theatre last year. Having also previously wowed us with a show in Cafe KOKO, we can’t wait to welcome KVN back once more following the release of May’s hypnotic ‘Your Aura’. “Distinctive… catchy… unpretentious” - Notion.
He’ll be supported by British-Caribbean neo soul, jazz and R&B artist TAZ. Citing artists including Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Corinne Bailey Rae as key influences, TAZ has already received considerable support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra for her fresh and innovative approach.
Spotlighting the future stars of tomorrow, whilst celebrating and elevating their journeys via the opportunity to play across our storied spaces, KOKO Amplify is the best place to find your favourite new artist.
