LEDISI celebrates Dinah Washington

Ledisi has earned a place in the pantheon of the greatest singers of her generation. She has performed alongside Dave Matthews, Gary Clark Jr, Keb' Mo', Maxwell, Herbie Hancock, Robert Glasper, and Patti Austin. Her incredible debut LP 'Soulsinger' (2000) was swiftly followed by the 'Feeling Orange But Sometimes Blue' (2001) album. Another 12 albums have followed including 'Lost & Found' (2007), 'Turn Me Loose' (2009), 'The Truth' (2014), 'The Wild Card' (2020) and 'The Crown' (2025) being just some of the highlights.
No stranger to the film and television world, Ledisi landed her first feature, singing in the George Clooney-directed film Leatherheads. In 2015 she portrayed the great Mahalia Jackson in the Oscar-nominated movie, Selma. Ledisi also played Patti LaBelle on the BET hit series American Soul. In 2023, Ledisi portrayed Gladys Knight in the biopic Spinning Gold a film about Casablanca Records' chief, Neil Bogart.
'For Dinah' is Ledisi's tribute tothe legendary jazz singer Dinah Washington which was released in 2025 on Candid Records. The album was produced by Rex Rideout and Christian McBride and features a duet with Gregory Porter.
