Few voices in soul music carry the velvet richness and pure emotion of Luther Vandross and FiL Straughan knows exactly how to honour that legacy. An award-winning vocalist with a flair for soulful storytelling, FiL Straughan has shared stages with the likes of Gloria Gaynor, Kool & The Gang and The Drifters, bringing his signature charm and rich vocals to packed venues across Europe and beyond.
After dazzling ITV's Starstruck as a Lionel Richie impersonator, FiL was invited to Lionel’s own Beverly Hills mansion. Lionel sent FiL a personal message saying, “We just saw your performance, it's ridiculous. You did a great job … you did it too good, man.” That’s a nod from a soul legend himself and a powerful backing note under FiL’s mantle.
