REMEMBERING GREGORY ISAACS An evening celebrating the music and legacy of the "Cool Ruler" with Terrance Wallen & The Material Men. "Gregory Isaacs is the most exquisite vocalist in reggae" The New York Times Gregory Isaacs, known as the "Cool Ruler", was one of Jamaica's most iconic reggae artists, blending smooth vocals with heartfelt lyrics. Born in 1951, Isaacs rose to prominence in the 1970s, pioneering the lovers rock subgenre with hits like Night Nurse, My Only Lover, and Love Is Overdue. His signature crooning style and deep, emotional storytelling made him a global reggae sensation, influencing generations of artists. Beyond love songs, Isaacs also voiced social struggles in tracks like Slave Master and Border, reflecting the hardships of his time. With over 500 albums recorded, his prolific output solidified his legacy as one of reggae's greatest vocalists. The impact of Gregory Isaac's music on reggae is undeniable, with his silky, melancholic voice continuing to inspire new audiences even after his passing in 2010. Terrance Wallen & the Material Men, under the direction of Ciyo 'Guitar' Brown will perform hits and fan favourites from the extensive Gregory Isaacs back catalogue. An AGMP Concerts presentation.
