Italian alternative rock band Sick Tamburo was formed in 2007 by former Prozac+ members Gian Maria Accusani (Mr. Man) and Elisabetta Imelio (Boom Girl), who initially adopted a signature look of balaclavas and signed with the independent collective La Tempesta Dischi. Their 2009 self-titled debut and 2011 follow-up, A.I.U.T.O., established their minimalist lyricism and repetitive rhythms, leading to award-winning tours across Italy. Subsequent albums continued to explore psychological themes and unique sonic textures, notably Senza vergogna (2014) and Un giorno nuovo (2017). The latter featured the poignant track "La fine della chemio," which was later re-recorded as a major collaborative charity project with top Italian artists to support breast cancer survivors. The band sustained their momentum with Paura e l'amore (2019) and the 2022 retrospective punk project Back to the Roots (Forse è l'amore). Following the release of their sixth studio album, Non credere a nessuno, in 2023 and an extensive national tour, Sick Tamburo previewed their next musical chapter in late 2025 with the singles "Ho perso i sogni" and "Silvia corre sola," setting the stage for their early 2026 album release.
