More information about Stem the Tide tickets
Stem the Tide is a one–night live music fundraiser in support of Anthony Nolan and Peaches Trust. The event is curated and hosted by Rufus Besterman and Peter Xan. The two became close friends living together and founded their No Rush collective hosting club nights and multidisciplinary events. Through conversations about family, music, and resilience, the idea for a fundraising concert was born. Both Rufus and Peter’s mothers went through battles with cancer, and the charities we are supporting played an important role in helping them through those times. This night is about giving back, celebrating strength, and bringing people together through music. Stem the Tide showcases a powerful line–up of artists: Biig Piig, Crystal Murray, Caitlin, Alfreda, and Memory of Speke as well as some surprise special guests. Expect an evening of community, hope, and extraordinary live performances. ALFREDA Alfreda is a London-born alt-pop artist and theatrical storyteller whose work collides cabaret, satire, and pop spectacle. With a voice that veers from intimate confessional to showgirl bravado, she creates a vivid universe of characters, blending 1960s glamour with 2000s kitsch and a sharp, self-aware wit. Through songs like Pink Elephants and her upcoming Teaserama EP, Alfreda blurs the line between performance art and pop, carving out a bold new lane as one of the UK’s most distinctive voices BIIG PIIG Biig Piig is a genuinely unique modern era pop star. Having come of age through musical experimentation, self-exploration and collaboration she started 2023 with the release of her critically acclaimed debut mixtape ‘Bubblegum’. Radiating creative might throughout her releases, Biig Piig has seamlessly woven through various genres and languages to deliver stories and songs that speak effortlessly of youth culture. Her unpredictable and excellent discography encompasses tracks with NiNE8, Meronomy, Emotional Oranges, Lava La Rue and her musical versatility, from nonchalant rap to melancholic lament and melody, has garnered attention from Billie Eilish, Bella Hadid, Lil Nas X and the late Virgil Abloh to name a few. Biig Piig has built a nascent global audience for her instantly identifiable sound via world- wide tour dates and promo across platforms such as Triple J, Studio Brussels, 3FM, DLF, Radio 4, KCRW and more. She splits her time between the US and UK having established a support network of creatives and inventive energy that keeps things feeling fresh and fluid. CAITLIN Caitlin was born and raised in the deep and mysterious New Forest in Hampshire, UK. Having trained to be a jazz singer, she has been a regular performer in London’s most exclusive clubs and venues since the age of 16. CRYSTAL MURRAY Crystal Murray is a Paris-based French-American singer, songwriter, and producer whose sound blends neo-soul, jazz, R&B, and club-ready electronics. Raised in a multicultural household by an African American jazz singer and a French father, she grew up surrounded by music and fashion, both of which shape her creative identity. Murray first came to public attention as a teenager with the Parisian art and fashion collective Gucci Gang before striking out as a solo musician. Her 2020 debut EP I Was Wrong introduced a sultry mix of soul and groove, followed by the 2022 project Twisted Bases, which ventured further into dancefloor-driven house and techno influences. Known for her smoky vocals and effortless genre-crossing, she draws on inspirations from Billie Holiday to contemporary club culture. Murray is also noted for a bold visual aesthetic and a commitment to female empowerment, queerness, and cultural diversity, positioning her as one of the most distinctive young voices in the European alternative R&B and electronic scene. MEMORY OF SPEKE Memory of Speke is a rising experimental London act. Their live shows are charged, imaginative, and full of restless energy — a name to watch.
She spends her time gigging with an incredible carousel of musicians that form a 7 piece soul band (Sol Collective) and playing two hour sets to ecstatic dance floors. To date, she’s been shortlisted for Radio 1’s Live lounge, named ‘Young Artist of the Year’ by Jools Holland and her single ’Take Me Where my Heart Is’ along with many other singles of Caitlin’s have found their way onto numerous editorial playlists. She has spent the last two years in development, working with some of the best producers in the UK and released two EPs in the last year. She will be releasing her first album in November 2025 and expecting the first single to be out by July. Writing all her own lyrics, Caitlin’s songs are completely unique and give rare insight into her emotions within the stories she creates.
