"These guys are pure class and really hold up their songs vocally, even after all these years." - Sunday Express

The Real Thing are part of British soul history. Formed in Liverpool, they became the first Black British group to top the UK Singles Chart with "You to Me Are Everything", a song that remains one of the great feel-good records of the 1970s.

Led by original members Chris Amoo and Dave Smith, the group brings a set packed with songs that still sound made for a busy room. Expect "You to Me Are Everything", "Can't Get By Without You" and "Can You Feel the Force?", moving from smooth soul to disco and funk with the kind of vocal blend that made the band stand out in the first place.

Their music helped give British soul a stronger voice in the mainstream, drawing on Philly soul, funk and disco while keeping its own UK character. Decades later, the songs still work because they are direct, melodic and full of groove.
