Waaju x Majid Bekkas presents a unique performance of the Moroccan trance music Gnawa through the aesthetic lens of London's potent beat creators Waaju. Brainchild of Waaju bandleader Ben Brown, the collaboration features his brand new arrangements of Gnawa songs with one of the foremost figures in the genre today, aiming at maintaining their original purpose of inducing trance-like state in listener and performer alike. The project recorded a Maida Vale live session for Gilles Peterson's BBC6 Music show, described by Gilles as "one of the most well received sessions I've ever had here."

Waaju's heavily-rhythmic psychedelic approach can be heard at its most commanding on their latest studio offering 'Grown' and collaboration with the legendary Majid Bekkas' has greatly helped to spread Gnawa music across the world.
