The Little Orchestra are heading to the newly restored Victorian theatre inside
Alexandra Palace, as our Beethoven journey continues with his beautiful 8th
Symphony, alongside his Egmont Overture and Wellington's Victory.
Recently reopened to the public after being hidden within the Palace for over 80 years,
the theatre will be getting The Little Orchestra treatment this March. The stunning interior
will play host to a fascinating story of unrequited love as we explore the mystery of
Beethoven's infamous "Immortal Beloved" letter, written while he was working on the 8th
Symphony.
Despite the awe-inspiring location, traditional concert attire can be left at home. Our
events are always relaxed and informal, with none of the barriers sometimes experienced
with classical music. There will even be the option of a comfy sofa for those who really
want to break with tradition! Our conductor, Nicholas Little, will guide the audience
through the programme, offering insights into the world of Beethoven and giving an
accessible route into the music.
What's more, the night will begin (and end!) with a well-stocked bar and delicious food,
carefully selected for the occasion.
